Lauryn Taylor

Lauryn Taylor began her career as a professional artist in 1982 while enrolled in a Bachelor of Fine Arts program at the Cleveland Institute of Art.

A Graphic Design and Photography major, in 1886 she was awarded a position interning as a greeting card and toy designer for American Greetings Corporation. This opportunity launched a successful design and marketing career that spanned two decades.

During this period, Lauryn also continued to pursue her life long passion of painting and became an accomplished abstract painter in the mediums of oil, acrylic and encaustic.

In 2003 she began sharing her techniques by creating and teaching a series of motivational abstract painting workshops, Lauryn Taylor Fine Art Workshops. The same year, she launched a unique contemporary art gallery in Carmel-by the Sea CA, Lauryn Taylor Fine Art.

In 2006, the gallery expanded to include a second location called Lauryn Taylor Fine Art Annex, and in 2007, partnered with the neighboring Gem Restaurant to provide contemporary art for their space. At present, the three spaces provide a fresh and progressive environment for Lauryn’s work and the work of other emerging and professional West Coast artists.

Today Lauryn divides her time between directing the Gallery, teaching abstract painting, providing Creative Coaching services, directing the Intuitive Abstract Painting program for Artista Creative Safaris, and creating acrylic and encaustic paintings in her Carmel Valley studio.
